Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Roger Ebert’s Film Festival. As a not-for-profit organization, the festival has always depended on the generosity of volunteers. We are grateful for their many contributions and know that we could not present this wonderful event without them.

The most immediate need is for our Virginia Theatre Team:

Volunteers can sign up for various opportunities during the festival, including concessions, ushers, pass holders assistance, information, crowd control, ticket takers, merchandise sales and more.

All volunteer sessions are during the festival (April 10-13, 2019).  Volunteers can sign up for as many, or as few, shifts as they prefer. Most shifts are roughly 3-5 hours in length.

Volunteers will be required to go through a mandatory orientation session (60-90 minutes) prior to signing up for shifts.

Orientations are scheduled at the Virginia Theatre on March 26th, 28th and April 2nd and 4th, all at 5pm.

There is also a campus orientation scheduled on Sunday, March 31st at 3pm-4:30pm at Lincoln Hall, Rm 1000.

We welcome large groups, however we do not have a way for groups to sign up “as a group”.  Each individual member of the group will need to register, go through the orientation, and sign-up for specific shifts.  Feel free to contact amhall2@illinois.edu with additional questions.

There are some additional volunteer opportunities available for office administration work prior to the festival.  These are typically reserved for College of Media students at the University of Illinois.  If you are interested, please contact Andy Hall at amhall2@illinois.edu.
